MorningBird is made up of singer songwriters Jill Burkes (violin/guitar), Rob Wheeler (guitar/mandolin/harmonica), & Josh Palmi (upright bass).  Whether singing protest songs, playing haunting instrumentals, or  telling tales from their travels on road, this trio engages listeners of all ages.

Scott Gilmore and Sarah Vitort are Fox and Bones—energetic offbeat folksters with a retro pop-rock bent who have been setting the world alight with a hand clapping, foot-stomping good time since 2016. The indomitable duo has brought their optimistic Americana polish to international stages shared with the likes of Rayland Baxter, The Dead South, ZZ Ward, The Talbott Brothers and Horse Feathers among others.

Hannah's music journey started at the age of 6 when her mom signed her up for fiddle lessons in a small Montana town. She quickly fell in love with the fiddle after hearing bands like George Strait & Ace in the Hole and Alison Krauss & Union Station for the first time. She spent her formative years studying Texas Style fiddling and playing in competitions throughout the country, eventually winning multiple Montana State and regional titles and becoming the 2014 National Young Adult champion--something she had always dreamed of accomplishing.

Like many of his favorite songwriters (John Hartford, Lucinda Williams, Jeff Tweedy), Izaak Opatz is an ungulate in life’s winter pasture, chewing on and metabolizing disappointment, heartbreak, and the other tough stuff into enjoyable musical carbohydrates. A compulsive metaphorager (and inveterate wordplayboy), Opatz breaks it all down with enzymes of wry humor, thoughtful simile and close observation - a therapeutic process of narrativizing his own life that, almost as a byproduct, turns out savory nuggets of literate, confessional pop.

Lee Zimmerman is a Cellist and Vocalist- one of the new cello innovators- weaving cello and voice in a broad musical fabric embracing music from the middle ages to seventeenth century courtly dance to the pulse of modern urban cityscapes. Influenced by american pop music, swing, jazz, classical and world music- He brings a singular approach to cello and song to the streets, taverns, living rooms, ceremonial and concert spaces around the world. He is a songwriter and has created music for movement, theater, performance art, dance, yoga and poetry.

Barbara Calm introduces herself as a veterinarian and musician from NW Montana. Balance and harmony are central in her life, with music being the perfect complement to a life in medicine. Her hammered dulcimer drives the rhythm, dances lightly around a melody, and fills a room with warm vibrating sound. Playing the octave mandolin weaves lilting harmonies atop the rhythm, while her newest instrument, the Irish Bouzouki, is a treasured addition from a recent sojourn to Ireland. Barbara also plays penny whistle and guitar, and may add her marimba or trombone on occasion.

Jason Foy is a lifelong musician, whose deft artistry on flute and whistles anchors this duo. His mandolin playing is intricate and precise, and his spirited accompaniment on guitar makes for an exciting ride. Jason's musical expertise includes djembe and bongos, which add rhythmic interest as well as a gleeful spirit.

Montana Singer/Songwriter, Mike Murray, has a voice that is honest, direct, and embodies the pureness of a classic folk storyteller. His music carries a message of camaraderie and empathy, while drawing inspiration from his adventurous life experiences. His tales are all his own, but somehow the way he tells them, we can all find ourselves in his words.
